Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg headline first edition of Coachella's new two-week format
No, it's not another Internet fake: The Coachella Music and Arts Festival really did announce its 2012 lineup via the festival's Facebook page and Twitter feed on Monday, Jan. 9. Although the rumored No Doubt, Daft Punk and Stone Roses reunions failed to materialize, the lineup includes plenty of heat, starting with rock's "it" band of the moment, the Black Keys, headlining on Friday(s). Radiohead will headline both Saturday incarnations of the festival, while Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will bring in the G-funk on Sundays. Other highlights include reunion apperances by Pulp, At the Drive-In, Refused, fIREHOSE and Mazzy Star, plus buzzy artists like Bon Iver, Florence + the Machine, Swedish House Mafia, the Weeknd and M83.
This year, for the first time, Coachella takes place over two weekends: April 13-15 and April 20-22. All bands will play the same days on both weekends. Click through the gallery to see more of this year's lineup, and for more details on Coachella 2012, visit our Metromix Palm Springs site. (Note: As of Friday, Jan. 13, all tickets for both weekends are sold out.)
