Fort Lauderdale, FL - The Florida Gators are gearing up for the biggest game in college football this week. All this attention is nothing new to UF quarterback Tim Tebow
, who helped the Gators to the BCS title two years ago. But even teammates admit, his star status has reached a whole new level.
On the football field, he helped the Gators win a national championship, he won a Heisman trophy in 2007, and this year led Florida to an SEC championship.
On the field, and off the field, the Gators may have never had a player like Tim Tebow.
"It's kind of cool, man, being with a rock star."
He is not just the face of Florida football, he may be the most recognizable college football player in the country. It does not matter to his offensive linemen, though, when they have to wait for "the rock star".
Jason Watkins - "Especially when I get hungry, though, I'm like man, Tebow, c'mon man we gotta go."
Maurkice Pouncey - "He tries to make everybody laugh with him. Sometimes, he's not that funny. We laugh 'cause it's Tim Tebow."
Kidding aside, these guys love playing with Tebow, and he loves playing with them.
Tim Tebow - "I really do appreciate it. The chance, the opportunity to be here. It is such a privilege and an honor to play in a game like this, versus a team like this, in an atmosphere like this."
Oklahoma Sooner cornerback Dominic Franks finally stirred the pot a little bit, saying there are three quarterbacks in the Big 12 alone who are better than Tebow.
