Ryan Sherry, the former owner of Fort Myers’ Venu, has made his way south for his latest nightclub venture — Voda.
Located in the former home of Aja Lounge in Bonita Springs’ The Promenade at Bonita Bay, Voda is designed to be a nightclub for people of all ages.
“Structurally, we didn’t do much to what Aja had, but we did a ton cosmetically,” Sherry said. “By being in Bonita Springs — right between Naples and Fort Myers, I feel we can bring together the best of both worlds.”
Friday night, Sherry and Voda will hosted a “White Party” celebrating the launch of the new issue of Scene Magazine.
“We’re an upscale nightclub and we want people who come here to dress to impress,” said Sherry, who opened the club three weeks ago. “At my old nightclub, Venu, we didn’t have a sign out front for a year-and-a-half.”
Sherry said unlike Aja Lounge, Voda — which means water in Croatian — will feature a variety of music, ranging from oldies to Top 40 to hip-hop to house.
“We’re going to have a little bit of everything,” he said.
The 21 and up nightclub is setting aside different nights of the week for different clientele.
Beginning next week, Tuesdays will be hospitality industry night, Wednesdays will be senior night and Fridays will kick off with a 6 p.m. happy hour.
Thursday night, Sherry said, will likely be reserved for private parties.
The Promenade at Bonita Bay is at 26811 South Bay Drive, just off U.S. 41.
